The Wines of Argentina

You may be surprised to learn that Argentina enjoys a rapidly increasing winemaking business. In fact, Argentina now ranks fifth in the world for wine production – a notable ranking, given that Argentina only recently began successfully exporting its wine to locations around the globe.

With winemaking styles influenced by immigrants from Spain and Italy dating as far back as the 16th century, Argentina is best known for its production of the legendary Malbec grape. Malbec thrives in Argentina’s abundant sunshine, complemented by the natural water meltdown from the Andes. Once a country known for cheaper quality wines, these are now being replaced by premium wines that are some of the most flavorful in the world.
